MARKETING AND BRANDING
To truly be considered a graphic designer, the student needs to be well versed and knowledgeable about marketing, branding and legal implications in their field. A graphic designer must be able to understand, assess and analyze the commercial strategy of a client, including their brand position, promise and mission. The student knows how to familiarize himself with the professional background of a business by asking the right questions to fully understand the goal of the project and abide the brand guidelines.
The students approach both the intellectual property and industrial patent issues that surround each project. They must understand the marketing characteristics of each company market identify and assess the client’s requirements as well as their performance and expectations, market segmentation and their product positioning.
Students are trained for project management: design, budget, communication, and promotion. For this, they need to know several principals of good management: cycles, conversion cycles, working capital, cost, performance indicators, fiscal, estimates and invoices. Additionally, the student will be accustomed to different professional statuses (salaries, independent), contrasting types of company status (individually, incorporated), and types of agreements (sales agreements, transfer of rights).
