Spatial Planning & Computer-Aided Design | Event Design at MADE

  • Visual Design

  • Project Management

Once an event designer understands a client's goals and vision for an event, they begin the spatial planning. Spatial planning takes into consideration the physical constraints of the space, safety hazards, environmental datum, and desired flow of movement through the space. In order for the event designer and their client to visualize the space, they must generate floor plans.

Students will be taught how to use floor planning software to create layouts for event spaces, a highly desirable skill in the events industry. These layouts will depict various elements of designing an event including lighting and audio, space plan and flow, seating arrangements, entertainment, furniture and more. Once the floor plans are created, the event designer will be able to visually present their concept and communicate the ambiance.
