FIGURE AND PORTRAIT PAINTING WORKSHOP
Expert instructor Olivier Casse guides students through the process of creating lifelike portrait and figure paintings in oil using professional quality materials. This is an intensive class aimed at helping students of all levels reach their highest potential. Students will be guided through the process of preparing a surface to paint, mixing colors, setting up a palette, incorporating oil mediums and exploring a range of brush techniques. Students will paint from direct observation of a live model as well as anatomical cast sculptures.
The instructor’s teaching philosophy is based on time-tested, 19th century European painting traditions that are proven to help students advance their skill level. Our limited class seating ensures that the instructor can provide individualized attention to each student, helping them learn new ways of observing the human form and translating their observations into realistic paintings.

Our figure and portrait painting workshop will help students improve their Oil Painting Skills. Students will learn 19th Century Academic Realism inspired painting techniques that has been taught all over the world and used by countless artists to create life-like paintings of the human form. They will also learn basic oil painting skills including Color Mixing, Anatomy and working with various Mediums, Surfaces and Vehicles. Figure and Portrait
Painting workshop students will work not only with casts and but also paint a Live Model.
